New Wing Trawling System Revolutionizes The Shrimping Industry!
Fuel Savings Achieved With the Wing Trawling System
It’s simple. Higher RPMs means higher fuel costs. The Wing Trawling System allows you to lower your vessel’s RPMs to the torque RPM while covering the same amount of ground.
During comparison tests, two vessels were equipped with otter trawl doors and the Wing Trawling System. The overall results in fuel savings achieved while using the Wing Trawling System were very similar between the two vessels.
Target Fishing of Shrimp with Fewer Nets
One net can be configured to fish deep water brown shrimp, shallow water white shrimp, large shrimp, or small shrimp. You no longer need multiple sizes of nets for different types or sizes of shrimp.
The Wing Trawling System holds the net open differently than otter trawl doors by stretching the webbing into a diamond shape and not into a square. This method allows the net to be held in an open position at all times and the position changes very little with surface conditions or surging of the vessel.
Captures Less Fin Fish
Since the Wing Trawling System has no trawl door and does not create a wall of mud outside the net, the fish have the opportunity to escape capture by simply going around the net.
This ability to go around the net is helpful if menhaden fish are being marked in the try-net. You may see a lot of fish in the small sample net but hardly any in the large Wing Trawling System nets.
